  • What to Expect

Mild swelling, tenderness, or bruising at the entry points or along the thread path is normal and typically resolves within 7 to 14 days. You may feel tightness, pulling, or slight asymmetry for up to 3 to 4 weeks. This is a normal part of the lifting process. Final results can take up to 12 weeks to fully develop, depending on factors like metabolism, collagen response, and lifestyle.

    Recovery Timeline

Days 1–3: You may experience swelling, tightness, and possible dimpling. Use a cold compress (avoiding direct contact with threads), apply arnica gel, and rest.
Week 1–2: Bruising may appear or deepen before it fades. Continue using arnica gel and avoid strenuous movement.
Weeks 3–6: Threads begin to settle and collagen production starts. Stick to gentle skincare and avoid facials or devices.
Weeks 6–12: Expect gradual improvement in lift and skin texture. A review appointment may be offered after 12 weeks.

    Things to Avoid

Avoid touching, pressing, or massaging the treated area for at least 3 weeks. Dental treatments, facials, chemical peels, and laser procedures should be postponed for 4 to 6 weeks. Refrain from intense exercise, steam rooms, and saunas for 2 weeks. Also avoid alcohol, smoking, and high-sugar foods for 72 hours. Makeup should not be applied over the entry points for at least 48 hours.

  • What to Expect

Following your treatment, it’s completely normal to experience some initial redness, swelling, and a sensation similar to a sunburn. These effects typically appear immediately and are part of your skin’s natural inflammatory response.

Peeling and flaking usually begin around days 3 to 5 post-treatment and may continue for up to 10 days. During this time, your skin may feel tight, dry, or itchy as it regenerates. This is a normal phase in the healing process and an important part of skin renewal.

Even after the peeling subsides, mild sensitivity and a pinkish tone may persist for several weeks. This is due to ongoing collagen remodeling beneath the surface. You’ll notice progressive improvements over time, with final results typically becoming visible between 3 to 6 months after treatment.

    Healing Timeline

Days 1 to 3: Expect redness, swelling, and warmth in the treated area. Use cool compresses for comfort, avoid sun exposure, and apply your prescribed post-laser ointment regularly to support healing.

Days 4 to 7: Peeling usually begins. It’s important not to pick or peel the flaking skin, as this can cause damage. Instead, use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser, and apply SPF daily—even if you're staying indoors.

Week 2: Pinkness may remain, but overall sensitivity should begin to subside. You can return to a lightweight skincare routine, avoiding active ingredients unless specifically approved by your practitioner.

Weeks 3 to 6: Skin texture and tone continue to improve. At this stage, you may start introducing products like antioxidants or hyaluronic acid, under professional guidance.

3 to 6 Months: Full collagen remodeling becomes apparent during this period, revealing smoother, firmer, more radiant skin.

    Do’s and Don’ts

To protect your results and aid recovery, only use skincare products provided or approved by your practitioner. Daily sun protection is crucial—apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50 every morning, even indoors, and reapply every 2 to 3 hours when exposed to sunlight.

Stay well-hydrated and avoid alcohol and caffeine during the first 72 hours, as these can dehydrate your skin and hinder healing. Using a silk pillowcase and fresh towels each day also helps maintain a clean environment for recovery.

Avoid picking, peeling, or scratching flaking skin, as this can lead to irritation or scarring. Hold off on wearing makeup until your practitioner gives the go-ahead, which is typically after 7 days. For at least 10 days post-treatment, avoid strenuous workouts, saunas, steam rooms, and hot baths. Steer clear of active skincare ingredients such as retinol, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), and exfoliants for at least 2 to 4 weeks.

    Aftercare Essentials Provided

To support your skin through the healing process, we’ll provide a post-treatment balm or gel carefully selected by your practitioner to soothe and protect. You’ll also receive a medical-grade SPF 50+ sunscreen to guard against UV damage.

Gentle cleansing is important, so Clinell wipes may be included as advised. Optional extras, such as a hydrating mask, sterile gauze, or a calming facial mist, may also be provided to enhance comfort and support your recovery.

Pre-treatment do's and don'ts

    • Consult with your practitioner: Share your full medical history and any medications or supplements you are taking.

    • Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment.

    • Get a good night’s sleep: Rest well to support your body’s healing process.

    • Follow specific instructions: If your practitioner provides any personalized pre-treatment advice, be sure to follow it closely.

    • Inform about recent treatments: Let us know if you’ve had any recent aesthetic or medical procedures.

    • Avoid blood thinners: Refrain from alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, or other blood-thinning supplements 3–5 days before treatment to reduce bruising risk (unless medically advised otherwise).

    • Avoid intense exercise and heat exposure: Steer clear of vigorous workouts, saunas, or sunbathing 24–48 hours before treatment.

    • Do not schedule around major events: Allow adequate recovery time before important occasions.

    • Avoid skincare treatments: Avoid chemical peels, exfoliation, or retinol products for at least 48 hours before your appointment.

    • Don’t come if unwell: Reschedule if you have a cold, flu, or any active skin infection.

Healing timeline insights

  • Understanding the healing timeline helps you know what to expect and when to see results after your treatment:

    • First 24–48 hours: Mild swelling, redness, and tenderness are common. Some bruising may appear but usually fades quickly. It’s important to avoid touching or pressing the treated areas during this time.

    • 3 to 7 days: Swelling and bruising should start to diminish. Any discomfort typically lessens, and treated areas begin to settle.

    • 1 to 2 weeks: Most visible side effects resolve. Results become more apparent as the treatment integrates with your skin or tissues.

    • 2 to 4 weeks: Final results usually become visible. For some treatments, like PDO threads or skin boosters, collagen production continues to improve your skin beyond this point.

Supplement recommendations

  • To support your treatment and enhance recovery, consider these commonly recommended supplements:

    • Arnica Montana: Helps reduce bruising and swelling after injectable treatments.

    • Vitamin C: Supports collagen production and skin healing.

    • Zinc: Aids in tissue repair and immune function.

    • Hair Support Complex: Contains biotin, silica, and other nutrients to strengthen hair for hair loss treatments.

    • Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Promote skin health and reduce inflammation.

    • Hyaluronic Acid Supplements: Support skin hydration and elasticity from within.
